Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been sent to knee specialist Bill Knowles for treatment on an injury that has kept him out of action since December 29th.
Despite his arrogant attitude, Balotelli has shown glimpses of what made him a star attraction at Inter Milan. Prior to his unfortunate injury, Balotelli had netted 5 goals in 9 Premier League starts for City and with the arrival of Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, it looks as though Balotelli will spend longer on the sidelines than initially feared.
“Mario has gone to Vermont. He’s gone out there to work and to improve his knee,” Mancini said during this past week.
“The surgeon has said he doesn’t need an operation. But if he does, it will be a problem for us.
“In these two weeks he must work hard in Vermont. We hope that, when he comes back, he will be ready to play.
“In Vermont, Mario can work quietly without a problem, without the pressure that he has here.”
Balotelli arguably has become one of the most enigmatic characters in the Premier League this season, often sparking controversy when speaking to the press and was embroiled in many battles following stupid comments which have people casting doubts over him as a person.
In August when he crashed his car and the police found £5K in his back pocket, when asked about it he simply replied “Because I am rich”.
Or who can forget his remarkable verbal attack at Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere when, after winning the most talented U-21 player in Europe award he said “What’s his name? Wil…? No, I don’t know him, but the next time I play against Arsenal I will keep a close eye on him,” once again exposing him as the arrogant twat he is.
