Eric Cantona Compares Sir Alex To Gandhi

Yup. The title speaks for itself. Eric Cantona did, in fact, compare his former gaffer Sir Alex Fergsuon to the influential historical figure Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking to the New York Times recently Cantona said:

“All I will say is that I think Ferguson will stay as the manager, after that, there will be more problems. Today, he is like Gandhi on the game side. With Manchester, I prefer to say, to think, to realise that Ferguson is a kind of genius.

“He had so many different generations of players now. He’s 70 (later this year) and works with players 18 years old, but adapts himself to all generations

Sorry emm Eric? United won’t be dealt half as many problems as you’ll endure as Sporting Director of a team that isn’t even formed yet.

About Dylan O'Neill

Football mad Irish 20-year-old. Living in Dublin so I've had a keen interest in League of Ireland for the last 2-3 years and used to write about it on offtheupright.blogspot.com, focusing mainly on UCD's limited fortunes as well as the Irish national team. I started to merge this interest with gambling two years ago to moderate success so have continued to do so since! View all posts by Dylan O'Neill
