Peterborough United, the League 1 side who no one knows (to be fair, when have they EVER been in the news?) have announced that they are going to sell an extra ‘director’s box’ season ticket for a preposterous sum of 15,000 quid. You know and I know this is by far the thickest, most stupidest season ticket plot ever to go on sale, even if it is the ‘Chairman’s Choice’. Like come on, what the fuck’s that’s supposed to mean.
The price they’ve chosen, £15,000, leaves even Europe’s top clubs scratching their heads. Arsenal, second in the season ticket price standings, sell their coveted Gunner season passes for just £1,825 while Chelsea and Manchester United trail closely with their season tickets selling like hot cakes for £1,210 and £931 respectively.
It’s not just matches you are entitled to when you purchase this season ticket. Oh no. You’re also handed the feat to eat as many pies as you want as well as being the guest of a club director for an away match.Oh yipee. How exciting.
Surely for 15,000 there should be something more exciting like a day at the training ground or a ‘come dine with me’ special featuring the team. Now THAT would be epic. I’m appalled at the severity of the season ticket too. The price leaves me sickened and the thing is, I think they’re looking for attention. Yeah, I said it. Why else would they propose such a horrendous idea?
