Houllier Takes Aston Villa Paintballing – Ends Badly

With no matches in the Premier League last weekend, Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier thought it would be the perfect week to take the team for a ‘morale-boosting’ trip, down to a hotel and spa getaway in Leicestershire on Wednesday night.

The team enjoyed the paintballing exercise as well as the dinner that came later that night but things got a little out of hand when two unnamed players squared up in a heated exchange.

The club is aware that there has been an incident,” a Villa spokesman said. “We have launched an investigation in line with our internal disciplinary procedures.”

Its believed the squad members had had a few drinks on-board and started having a go at each other but no punches were thrown, just “two players who were pissed up had a frank exchange of view” according to a source quoted to the Guardian.

Absolutely marvelous. That’s just what we need. Another bloody fight. We’ve had a good few over the past week or so but Macclesfield vs Wycombe SURELY takes the cake. No doubt.

Oh and I know who the perpetrators for the Villains were: Mr Richard Dunne and James Collins. Obviously having an argument over who was the better player.

Living in Dublin so I've had a keen interest in League of Ireland for the last 2-3 years and used to write about it on offtheupright.blogspot.com, focusing mainly on UCD's limited fortunes as well as the Irish national team. I started to merge this interest with gambling two years ago to moderate success so have continued to do so since! View all posts by Dylan O'Neill
